hiatus

a lot has happened since I last made a post on this site. that's mostly because my last post was over a year ago. after the summer settled, things became this weird vortex of post-grad woes and triumphs. i started freelancing pretty intensely for billboard + i-D—two places i absolutely love + where i've met the most supportive editors—i worked a bit with vice (not so much lol), and i got a job as an associate staff writer with pitchfork! it's been exciting, weird, anxiety-inducing, lonely, empowering, fun, and overall just confusing.

in the past year, i've sadly lacked the inspiration to bring my camera anywhere. i stopped looking at the world as art and started looking at is as a cold + aggressive place. this is probably also in part due to the fact that i live in new york—it's really a different beast once you're no longer an undergrad student. but when i was home last month, i found two loose + forgotten rolls of film in my old room. i felt like a child again, imagining what was on the rolls and fidgeting with anticipation on the flight home. i missed that wondering feeling. so, i've bought a new camera bc my AT-1 was seriously fucked up, which was probably a contributing factor to my photography hiatus tbh. i've got my AE-1 now + i'm ready to see the world as art again.
